About the Job

If you are an IO Psychologist with a predilection for assessment development and working with customers, and you are motivated to achieve results in an intimate, fast-moving, startup-like environment, this position is for you.

We are seeking someone to help us develop, support, and sell our world-class pre-employment assessments and other candidate evaluation products to business and HR leaders in companies of all sizes.

This is an immediate full-time position with a base salary and annual performance-based bonus. You will work from home with occasional travel for client and internal meetings (less than 2% travel).

Developing, supporting, and delivering pre-employment assessments and related products requires a solid understanding of common recruiting/hiring practices and regulations, and knowledge of the theory and professional standards associated with employment testing. A background in and a passion for Industrial/Organizational Psychology is required. In many cases you will be a trusted advisor to customers, helping them understand how to use our tools to avoid bad hires and focus on their most qualified applicants in an ethical and responsible manner. In addition to working with and educating customers, you will participate in development of new instruments and improvements to existing instruments. You will also perform business outcome and local validation studies to quantify the benefits of our tools from a business perspective.

HR Avatar is a small, growing company in which team members expect a lot from each other, but they also know they can rely on each other for help whenever needed. We value direct, clear communications, integrity, and dedication to our mission.

What you’ll do:

  • Work with existing and prospective clients to understand and qualify their needs, and to formulate assessment programs that will help them meet their objectives.
  • Participate in analysis and improvement of existing assessment products.
  • Participate in formulation and development of new assessment products.
  • Perform business outcome studies and local validation studies.
  • Conduct product demonstrations and information web-sessions.

What we’d like you to have:

  1. Master of Science in IO Psychology (or higher).
  2. Evidence that you are resourceful and determined to succeed.
  3. Strong interest in application of scientific principles of assessment to practical hiring problems.
  4. Ability to communicate honestly, effectively and openly with team members and customers.
  5. Ability to work productively from home and as a member of a small team.
