HR Avatar's New AI Features

The future of AI is humans empowered by AIWe are rolling out AI-driven features to enhance the information our assessments and reference checks provide. You may already have noticed new insights in your reports.

All of the following enhancements are at least partially implemented today and will be fully available by the end of 2025:

  1. Essay and Text Scoring

AI is used to produce both numeric and qualitative scores for written responses using the same standards as a human evaluator. In addition to an overall score, the system scores clarity, structure, and grammar, then provides a short rationale explaining strengths and areas for improvement.

  2. Video and Voice Analysis

Recorded and live interviews are transcribed and analyzed using AI. Content is scored in a way similar to essay text (above). Additionally, speech patterns such as tone, pacing, and pausing are measured to predict how a candidate’s communication may be perceived.

  3. Resume Upload and Parsing

Customers can request that a candidate or employee upload a resume as part of an assessment or reference check. AI is used to parse and summarize the uploaded resumes. Their resume is then used in conjunction with other scores to perform higher-order AI scoring (described below).

  4. Higher-Order AI-Powered Scoring

In addition to question-level AI scoring and document parsing, HR Avatar now supports higher-order AI evaluations that analyze all collected candidate data (resumes, test scores, reference check scores) against your company’s defined information.

    • Company Culture Alignment
AI can compare a candidate or employee with your pre-defined company culture and values. AI also parses company-provided materials to summarize and establish culture information.
    • Core Competency Comparison
AI evaluates candidates against your organization’s pre-defined core competencies. AI summarizes and structures the provided competency information, generating comparison scores that highlight alignment and development opportunities.
    • Job Description Match
AI estimates how well candidates align with one or more job descriptions specified by your company, both quantitatively and qualitatively. These scores are produced automatically when a job description is mapped to a specific assessment or test key. Job Description Match scores are also hard coded into all of our job-specific tests, which allows you to receive a score without needing to input a job description.
    • Personality and KSA Summaries
AI can generate summaries of personality and other non-cognitive traits measured within an assessment. It also summarizes knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) drawn from assessment scores and resumes when available. These summaries present areas of high competence and areas for improvement in the context of workplace performance. They are automatically generated when sufficient scores are available and no other high-order evaluations are performed.

Each AI-generated evaluation includes a clear rationale describing strengths, weaknesses, and avenues for improvement.

Maximizing the Value of AI
The more company-specific information you add, the more meaningful and personalized your AI summaries will be. These features are designed to enhance your evaluations, not replace your decision-making.

Think of HR Avatar’s AI as a second opinion. It connects the dots between data points, highlights key insights, and helps ensure every candidate is seen as a whole person.
