Manila, Philippines (June 15, 2015) - Success at the middle management level can be predicted. HR Avatar Philippines and members of the IT and Business Process Association of the Philippines (IBPAP) Leadership Development Council have signed a research agreement to profile top performing team leaders in the IT and Business Process Outsourcing industries.
The IBPAP Leadership Development Council was tasked to identify a High-Potential Leadership (HPL) solution to use to assess the readiness of the potential Team Leaders for the BPO industry. After reviewing several leading team leader assessments on the market, the council selected HR Avatar's management simulation to use in the study.
The research project, THE PROFILE OF TOP PERFORMING TEAM LEADERS: Setting the Competency Benchmarks for the Philippine’s IT and BPO Industries will identify the competencies that differentiate top performing team leaders from their peers.
“Based on the successful outcomes of the IBPAP talent benchmarking studies in the past, we believe that this research will help improve the IBPAP member organizations’ ability to hire and develop Team Leaders/Frontline Managers with greater potential for success”, says Ms. Penny Bongato, Executive Director for Talent Development of IBPAP.
Business Process Outsourcing is the third largest industry in the Philippines, generating one million jobs. It is also the only industry conducting high volume pre and post hiring screening in the Philippines.
“This initiative is in line with our 10-year IT/BPO roadmap which prioritizes driving competency standards of our talents in high-impact high-volume positions like team leaders and frontline managers”, says Mr. Jose Mari Mercado of IBPAP. “We are grateful to the IBPAP Leadership Development Council and HR Avatar Philippines for moving this forward.”
Ms. Liza Mapagu, CEO of HR Avatar Philippines, is calling on the participation of the members of the IBPAP to volunteer for the study. “By being able to identify the competencies that differentiate top performing leaders from marginal or bottom team leaders, the research findings will provide insights and validate our assumptions on how we can better hire, develop and manage the team leaders and managers for the industry”, says Ms. Mapagu.
The research will generate a report for each participating company. An overall industry profile will be prepared, presented and discussed in a research forum which will organized by IBPAP.
