HR Avatar integrates abilities, competencies, interests, experience and education to produce candidate job match reports   June 6, 2017, 8:00:00 PM EDT

Aldie, VA (June 7, 2017) - HR Avatar, a leading provider of online, simulation-based employment tests, has enhanced its service to provide free reports to candidates that show them what job types they appear to be best qualified for.

Employers using the HR Avatar service now have the option of making these reports available to their job candidates. If an employer opts in, an optional free interest, education, and experience survey is administered to the candidate after they complete the pre-hire selection assessment that was administered on behalf of the employer. The survey only takes about 8 minutes. If they complete the survey, candidates are emailed a comprehensive job match report that shows them what job types they appear best suited for, based on both the survey they completed, and the pre-hire assessment. Actual scores are not included in the candidate report, but they are not necessary for providing useful information to the candidate.

For more than a hundred years, employers have tested their applicants, taking up their precious time and giving them absolutely nothing in return. The job match report represents a cost-free opportunity for employers to say thank you for completing the assessment and provide something of value back to the candidate.

The report itself leverages the extensive U.S. Government-sponsored Occupational Information Network, or (O*Net) database. Over the past 20 years, O*Net, a replacement for the now ancient Dictionary of Occupational Titles, has performed extensive analysis of what is most important to almost 1,000 different job types -- including abilities, knowledge, skills, interests, educational background, and work experience -- as well as what the key activities and tasks are required to perform the job. HR Avatar has been using O*Net as a basis for it's whole person job-specific assessments for the last 5 years. For more information on O*Net, visit their website at https://www.onetonline.org/.

Candidates are not the only beneficiaries. The report that each employer receives for the pre-hire assessment is also modified to include the job match results.

HR Avatar job tests measure cognitive ability, personality, work history, and job knowledge, all in one test. Cognitive ability scores, which include a measure of attention to detail and analytical thinking, do a better job of predicting success in the role than other pre-employment assessments and a job interview. While most cognitive ability tests ask test-takers generic questions, HR Avatar simulations are set in a work context, so test-takers aren’t left wondering what their pre-employment assessment has to do with the job role. Personality and past history questions in the test also help hiring managers determine whether their job candidates are a good fit for the role.

To try a test and determine whether it is a good fit for your organization, register for a free trial and administer the test to yourself or one of your colleagues. Or, if you would like to see a sample report, click here to download it.
