About the test

The Java Spring Boot (Short) test is designed to assess candidates' and employees' knowledge and skills in developing web applications using Java and the Spring Boot framework, covering packages, syntax, structure, and core concepts. It evaluates entry-level to mid-level programmers on their ability to write, debug, deploy, and maintain Spring Boot applications, measuring competency across six key areas: Spring Boot Core Concepts and Application Structure, REST Controllers and HTTP Request Handling, Spring Data JPA and Database Operations, Application Configuration, Exception Handling and Request Validation, and Testing Spring Boot Applications.

The assessment uses a variety of question formats, including Multiple Choice, Multiple Correct Answer, and Essay Composition questions, with one or more questions scored using artificial intelligence. Questions are drawn from a large pool to minimize the risk of cheating, and one or more questions are subject to individual time limits to further deter dishonesty and enhance the predictive accuracy of results.

Following completion, the test produces a Candidate Selection Report that includes an overall score and detailed scores for each attribute.

The Candidate Selection Report also provides expert interview questions that help you probe critical or low-scoring areas, along with a guide for noting your evaluation of the candidate's responses. Consistent use of an interview guide is an important part of gaining better candidate insights and making better hiring decisions.
