About the test
The Adobe Premiere Pro - Usage and Concepts assessment is designed to evaluate the knowledge and skills of job candidates and employees in producing high-quality video and audio media using Adobe Premiere Pro, covering essential competencies such as Timeline Editing and Clip Management, Media Import and Project Organization, Audio Editing and Mixing, Color Correction and Visual Effects, Titles, Text, and Graphics, and Exporting and Rendering. The test measures skill across these areas by evaluating tasks such as importing and organizing media, creating and managing sequences and tracks, trimming and arranging clips, applying transitions and effects, adjusting audio levels, adding titles and graphics, and exporting and rendering sequences for distribution.
The assessment uses a variety of question formats, including Essay Composition, Multiple Choice, and Multiple Correct Answer questions, with some questions featuring time limits to discourage cheating and improve predictive accuracy, and one or more questions scored using artificial intelligence. To further ensure integrity and reduce the risk of cheating, questions are drawn from a large pool, ensuring that each candidate receives a unique selection of items.
The specific attributes measured include:
Knowledge and Skills
- Audio Editing and Mixing
- Color Correction and Visual Effects
- Exporting and Rendering
- Media Import and Project Organization
- Timeline Editing and Clip Management
- Titles, Text, and Graphics

Following completion, the test produces a Candidate Selection Report that includes an overall score and detailed scores for each attribute.
The Candidate Selection Report also provides expert interview questions that help you probe critical or low-scoring areas, along with a guide for noting your evaluation of the candidate's responses. Consistent use of an interview guide is an important part of gaining better candidate insights and making better hiring decisions.
Note that while the Adobe Premiere Pro - Usage and Concepts assessment is a useful and efficient instrument for confirming a base level of skill or knowledge about this important topic, it is not intended to pinpoint the exact level of candidate or skill. We recommend that skills tests, like this one, be used in parallel with other measurements, such as cognitive ability, job fit, and behavioral history. Each different type of test provides a valuable piece of information you can use when evaluating potential job performance.
