About the test
The Adobe Premiere Pro - Usage and Concepts (Short) assessment is designed to evaluate the knowledge and skills of job candidates and employees in producing high-quality video and audio media using Adobe Premiere Pro, covering everything from foundational project organization to advanced editing and export workflows. The test measures proficiency across six key areas: Timeline Editing and Clip Management, Media Import and Project Organization, Audio Editing and Mixing, Color Correction and Visual Effects, Titles, Text, and Graphics, and Exporting and Rendering. Topics assessed include importing and organizing media, creating and managing sequences and bins, trimming and arranging clips, applying transitions, adjusting audio levels and keyframes, color correction, adding titles and graphics, exporting sequences, and managing project settings and file formats.
The assessment uses a variety of question formats, including Multiple Choice, Multiple Correct Answer, and Essay Composition questions, with one or more questions scored using artificial intelligence. To enhance the validity of results and discourage dishonest test-taking, questions are drawn from a large pool and one or more questions are subject to individual time limits. This combination of diverse question types, AI-assisted scoring, and anti-cheating measures makes the assessment a reliable and comprehensive tool for gauging real-world Adobe Premiere Pro skill.
The specific attributes measured include:
Knowledge and Skills
- Audio Editing and Mixing
- Color Correction and Visual Effects
- Media Import and Project Organization
- Timeline Editing and Clip Management

Following completion, the test produces a Candidate Selection Report that includes an overall score and detailed scores for each attribute.
The Candidate Selection Report also provides expert interview questions that help you probe critical or low-scoring areas, along with a guide for noting your evaluation of the candidate's responses. Consistent use of an interview guide is an important part of gaining better candidate insights and making better hiring decisions.
Note that while the Adobe Premiere Pro - Usage and Concepts (Short) assessment is a useful and efficient instrument for confirming a base level of skill or knowledge about this important topic, it is not intended to pinpoint the exact level of candidate or skill. We recommend that skills tests, like this one, be used in parallel with other measurements, such as cognitive ability, job fit, and behavioral history. Each different type of test provides a valuable piece of information you can use when evaluating potential job performance.
