# Cascading Style Sheets (CSS, Short) Assessment

## Description
The Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) (Short) assessment is designed to evaluate the knowledge and skills necessary for entry-level to mid-level web developers to write and maintain pages for business web applications using elements, styles, and keywords from the standard specification of HTML and CSS available in most modern web browsers. The test measures candidate and employee proficiency across six key areas: Selectors, Specificity, and Inheritance; Box Model, Spacing, and Borders; Layout with Flexbox and Grid; Typography, Colors, and Visual Formatting; Responsive Design and Media Queries; and CSS Variables and Cross-Browser Compatibility. It assesses comprehension of selectors, specificity rules, and inheritance models, as well as the implementation of layouts using flexbox, grid systems, and the box model, and the configuration of typography, spacing, borders, and colors to format user interfaces. The test also measures the application of media queries to build adaptive interfaces, the use of variables to manage themes, and the resolution of rendering conflicts across browser environments.

The assessment evaluates skills through a variety of question formats, including Essay Composition, Multiple Choice, and Multiple Correct Answer questions, with questions drawn from a large pool to minimize the risk of cheating. One or more questions incorporate artificial intelligence in scoring to ensure accurate evaluation of open-ended responses, and select questions are subject to individual time limits to further deter cheating and enhance the predictive validity of results.
