# SQL - Basic (Short) Assessment

## Description
The SQL - Basic (Short) assessment is designed to measure the foundational SQL knowledge and skills of job candidates and employees at the entry to mid level, focusing on their ability to write, debug, and maintain SQL scripts in business environments. The test evaluates core competencies across six key areas: SELECT Statements and Filtering, JOIN Operations, Aggregate Functions and GROUP BY, INSERT, UPDATE, and DELETE Statements, Table Definition and Constraints, and Subqueries and NULL Handling. Candidates are assessed on their ability to construct and interpret SQL queries, manipulate data, define database structures, and apply constraints and set operations. The assessment measures skill-based proficiency using a variety of question formats including Multiple Choice, Multiple Correct Answer, and Essay Composition questions. Questions are drawn from a large pool to minimize the risk of cheating, and one or more questions include individual time limits to further deter dishonesty and enhance predictive accuracy. Artificial intelligence is used to assist in scoring one or more questions, ensuring a thorough and objective evaluation of each candidate's SQL capabilities.
