# Unix Bash Scripting (Short) Assessment

## Description
The Unix Bash Scripting (Short) test evaluates the knowledge and skills necessary for entry-level to mid-level programmers to write, debug, deploy, and maintain scripts in Unix Bash, with a primary focus on assessing practical understanding of Bash scripting syntax, keywords, and common usage. The test measures candidate and employee proficiency across key areas including Variables, Data Types, and Parameters; Control Structures such as Conditionals and Loops; Input, Output, Redirection, and Piping; File Operations and Permissions; Text Processing with grep, sed, and awk; and Error Handling and Exit Codes.

The assessment uses a variety of question types, including Multiple Choice, Multiple Correct Answer, and Essay Composition questions, with skill-based questions drawn from a large pool to help prevent cheating. Some questions include individual time limits to further deter cheating and improve predictive performance, and one or more questions are scored using artificial intelligence to ensure accurate evaluation of open-ended responses.
