# Apache Cassandra Database Administration (Short) Assessment

## Description
The Apache Cassandra Database Administration (Short) test is designed to evaluate the knowledge and skills of job candidates and employees necessary to support Apache Cassandra database configuration, maintenance, and operations, with a primary focus on practical administration competencies. The test measures skill across six key areas: CQL Syntax and Data Modeling; Replication, Consistency, and Read/Write Behavior; Nodetool and Cluster Operations; Compaction Strategies and SSTable Management; Backup, Restore, and Node Lifecycle Operations; and Cassandra Configuration and Security. Coverage includes topics such as data modeling concepts, cassandra.yaml configuration, replication strategies, consistency levels, nodetool commands, snitch configuration, backup and restore using snapshots, SSTable structure and the write path, gossip protocol, system table diagnostics, authentication and authorization, and multi-datacenter deployments. The test uses Multiple Choice, Multiple Correct Answer, and Essay Composition question types, with questions drawn from a large pool to help prevent cheating, and includes one or more time-limited questions to further deter cheating and improve predictive performance. Artificial intelligence is used in the scoring of one or more questions.
